I have a shade that attaches under the lamp. Do you have any shades like that?
This is a shade that has a european fitting. There is a ring that holds the shade into place. We have adapters that you can use if the inner dimension of the ring is either 1-⅜” or 1-⅝”. Then you can attach a harp to the adapter, and use one of our standard shades.
How do I know what size harp I need?
Generally we will recommend a harp that is roughly 2” shorter than the slant of the shade. Depending on the lamp, you may want to go slightly shorter or taller. If there is a long neck, you will probably want a shorter harp. The smallest size harp that will fit a standard bulb is 6.5”
My shade is coming down too low on the lamp. How can I remedy this?
You can either get a taller harp, or try a riser which screws on to the top of the harp. Risers are available in ½” increments up to 2”
How do I know which shade will look the best on my lamp?
Try to look for a shade that resembles the shape of your lamp. If your lamp is short and squat, try a short drum. If it is round and angular, try a retro drum, empire or a curved rectangle.
Which lampshades give off the most light?Q&A
Paper is the most translucent material followed by slubless and then linen. For brightness, white and eggshell colored lamp shades give off the most light.
My lampshade is 12” across the top, 16” at the bottom and 8” vertical. Do you sell shades with those dimensions?
For any dimensions that are not part of our stock shades, customers always have the option to create custom lampshades. That way they can get the exact measurements they are looking for using a fabric of their choosing.
My lamp doesn’t have a way to attach a lampshade.
We suggest using a bulb clip that attaches directly onto the light bulb and a finial at the top.
My lampshade is clipped onto the light bulb and doesn’t stay steady.
We have Magic Toobs that are made of silicone. They are wrapped around the bulb clip wires and grips onto the light bulb.
The finial doesn’t fit on my pipe stem of my lamp. The hole is too small.
We have a shade rest that screws onto the pipe stem and reduces the size so that the finial will fit.

How to pack a lampshade for the return?
Please carefully follow the return shipping instructions, provided on the flyer included in every shipment. Occasionally damages can occur during shipping. If your shipment appears to be damaged from the outside upon delivery, please contact us immediately. Take pictures of the outer box and contents, and do not discard any of the shipping materials; they must be inspected during the claim process.
If possible, please re-use the box the shades came in and the shipping materials. Lampshades are extremely fragile, so care must be taken to insulate shades from the box itself. Crumpled packing paper should surround the shade on all sides. If returning multiple shades of the same style that can be stacked or nested together, several inches of paper should be inserted between them. Shades can be easily damaged during shipping if nested without a paper buffer. Please do not use packing peanuts or any form of styrofoam! Please also mark the RMA number provided by our staff on the outside of the box.
